I've been busy. I acquired the Valentine's Day party for Kaeli's class. I tend to spend a lot of time creating, because I can't find what I want. It is also VERY difficult to find Valentine's Day items that have a God-based theme rather than cupid and mushy stuff like that. So, I've been searching the Bible for scripture, looking for a game (if you have one - please share!!) that is Christian Based about love and I'll be tackling the food (limiting sweets as much as possible). All of this has lead me to a business idea, but I don't know how to get started. I need resources of paper goods (partyware), craft kits, and interested parties.
Anyway, here are the centerpieces for the tables for the party. I used a simple .29 cent treat bag and some heart picks. The little curls of paper have "We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19
" printed on them. I just used different scissors to cut the edges.
I attached this beautiful poem to the bag that I found on the internet while I was surfing for inspiration for party ware:
God’s Valentine Gift
God’s Valentine gift of love to us
Was not a bunch of flowers;
It wasn’t candy, or a book
To while away the hours.
His gift was to become a man,
So He could freely give
His sacrificial love for us,
So you and I could live.
He gave us sweet salvation, and
Instruction, good and true--
To love our friends and enemies
And love our Savior, too.
So as we give our Valentines,
Let’s thank our Lord and King;
The reason we have love to give
Is that He gave everything

beautiful! It's funny how quickly we put away Christmas and forget the birth of Christ connects to God's sacrificial love for us.
Very nice Debbie, you're always so creative.
Great job!
I was up til 2:00 a.m. cutting felt and ribbon and card stock for our Chinese New Year Celebration today at Jilli's school. The kids made door hangings and dragon bookmarks. I love coming up with crafts :) I'll post pics on the blog soon.
Take care,
Dawn
P.S. LOVE the new blog look
